Personal Development at The Greetland Academy
Here at The Greetland Academy, we are preparing our pupils to be able to flourish and thrive with the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life in modern day Britain. We provide opportunities that support pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, cultural, mental and physical development. Our plan for personal development is designed using a tiered approach: our school values and whole school strategies, our curriculum and targeted personal development. In addition, we ensure that we make responsive changes where necessary.
Our curriculum is inclusive and meets the needs of all our pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) by adapting teaching and learning to suit all children and all abilities. We ensure that our curriculum fosters equality of all the protected characteristics by ensuring the quality of an inclusive and diverse curriculum. Our teachers have the freedom to design their long term plans to suit the needs of their class looking at PSHCE links throughout the whole school curriculum. Through our PSHCE and RSHE education, we teach pupils the knowledge, skills, and attributes they need to keep themselves mentally and physically healthy and safe, to manage their lives, now and in the future.
